2022 Leadership Development Program

The Australian Fulbright Alumni Association (AFAA) continues to support the growth and development of Fulbright alumni beyond their scholarship year through its Leadership Development Program. Recognizing that Fulbrighters are leaders in their fields, AFAA has been developing this initiative since 2019, informed by a membership survey to understand alumni needs and interests.

In 2022, the program featured two complementary components: a mentorship scheme connecting alumni as mentors and mentees, and a series of leadership workshops and seminars to enhance skills and knowledge. Participants engage in projects that advance the Fulbright mission of international understanding, while accelerating the growth of social entrepreneurship efforts and leadership capabilities.

The program took a holistic approach to leadership, covering resilience in a post-pandemic world, navigating technological challenges, fostering interpersonal skills, and promoting diversity and inclusivity. Through this initiative, AFAA empowered the alumni to strengthen their impact, collaborate across disciplines, and continue contributing meaningfully to both local and global communities.
